Augmented & Virtual Reality

eLearning Way knows that when used correctly Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) are unmatched in their ability to achieve desired learning outcomes. AR & VR are technologies are so effective because they provide immersive and interactive experiences that are safe, responsive and realistic.

If you are considering AR or VR as tool to enhance your eLearning efforts consider the following:

Augmented Reality (AR):

  1. AR overlays digital content onto the real world, typically viewed through a smartphone, tablet, or AR headset.

  2. In eLearning, AR can be used to overlay additional information, such as 3D models, videos, or text, onto real-world objects or environments. This can help learners visualize complex concepts or interact with virtual objects in a real-world context.

  3. For example, AR can be used in medical training to overlay anatomical information onto a patient's body, allowing students to see and interact with internal organs and structures.

Virtual Reality (VR):

  1. VR immerses users in a completely virtual environment, typically using a VR headset. This creates a sense of presence and allows users to interact with the virtual environment as if they were physically there.

  2. In eLearning, VR can be used to create realistic simulations and scenarios that provide hands-on learning experiences. For example, VR can be used to simulate a chemistry lab where participants can perform experiments safely and without the need for physical equipment.

  3. VR can also be used for soft skills training, such as public speaking or leadership training, by placing learners in realistic scenarios where they can practice and receive feedback.
